The Badung Live Saving Association (Balawisata Badung, South Bali) was founded in 1972 and became a member of World Live Saving (WLS) in 1980. Founder and president of the company, I Gede Berata, has been successfully building a large network of livesaving posts, increasing livesaving activities have led to a significant drop in the number of deaths caused by drowning over the last decade. The association has very close ties with the Australian Surf Live Saving Association (SLSA), and is sponsored by Quicksilver and Coca Cola.
